How is this speech similar to and different from the other two studied?
This speech is similar to the other speeches because of it's writing patterns. Again the speech acquires running sentences rather than short. It has rhetorical devices, for instance inclusion. Barack directs this speech more towards the history of America and the power of the nation.
It is different because again Barack discusses the nations ability to prosper and become strong. He does not mention his Grandmother or family as he did in his previous speeches. Obama is directing his entire speech to America's history and their hardships they struggled through. Also he thanks President Bush and McCain, while in his previous speeches he was in opposition of them. In his previous speeches he used many anecdotes, while in this speech he barely used one.
In regards to all the differences, President Barack Obama is still a succesful spokesperson. He captures the audience with any style of writing. His confidence and ability to speak are alone the strengths he has on all of us.
